Central Bank of Nigeria Issues Draft Guidelines On e-Naira

In keeping with pace with its peers in the sovereign digital currency race, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released draft guidelines on e-Naira and how the Nigerian state backed Digital Currency (“DC”) will be regulated, designed and issued. The announcement was made during the apex Bank's recent presentation to Nigerian banks at which it also disclosed that Digital Currency is scheduled to be launched on the 1st of October 2021.
