In line with its primary mandate of ensuring good corporate governance practices in the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy, the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) issued the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance 2018 (“the Code, NCCG 2018”) on 15 January 2019. The Code was issued in line with the powers conferred on the FRCN in Sections 11(c) and 51(c) of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) Act, 2011 and applies to all public and private entities.
