On 23rd August 2022, the Federal Government, through the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola, , inaugurated a Special Ministerial Task Force (SMTF) with a mandate to audit all expatriate quota applications processed by the Federal Ministry of Interior from 2019 till date. The Committee was mandated to ensure the beneficiary firms and their expatriates observe the compliance obligations stipulated in the Nigerian Immigration Act 2015 and Immigration Regulations 2017, as well as other extant Nigerian legislation and regulations.
