FIRS ESTABLISHES NON-RESIDENT PERSONS’ TAX OFFICE IN LAGOS

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has established a specialised tax office for Non-Resident Tax Persons in Lagos. This is contained in a Public Notice signed by the Executive Chairman, FIRS, Mr. Tunde Fowler.

Designated as the Non-Resident Persons Tax Office (NRPTO), the notice clarifies that a non-resident person refers to a foreign company as defined in the Companies Income Tax Act or an individual (who is resident outside Nigeria and derives income or profit from Nigeria) as defined in the Personal Income Tax Act 2004 as amend.
